Didn't expect to cry early on in this series but I'm so glad Naofumi can finally realise he can share that burden and rely on someone who cares for him.

Spear guy is beyond savable.. The other 2 are still savable. They even might start investigating the Princess and King if this is going towards the pace they saw the cheat. Or at lest they'll be more aware about how things aren't as said about Naofumi.. I mean.. They saw the Princess cheating, and lying about it! If you think like that, her lie at the start much be fishy too right o.o
I'm normally a crybaby but I didn't cry over this episode... It looks like my emotions were dominated with resentment towards Motoyasu, Myne, and Aultcray, and I found it hard to believe that Itsuki and Ren decided to take Naofumi's side on this one. This episode feels so fast though, felt like I was sitting for a good 10 minutes when it was actually 24
I read this part of the LN a while ago, but can anyone explain why he was only able to really see her and taste things again after going through what he does in this episode?
My guess is that he was traumatized by the cunt's betrayal and only when he understood that Raphtalia would stay by his side no matter what, die he overcome/forget his trauma so he can taste food again. Him seeing he as a kid might be part of that, but I don't really know why he couldn't see her as she was before.
That probably makes more sense then what I thought it was. I thought that because of his reputation whenever he orders food from anywhere they intentionally don't season it/make the flavor of his food bland (kinda like that lunch lady who spits in your food in highschool) since they don't like him but still want his money so they don't want to refuse him food. But that's a very literal/basic interpretation of this whole situation and your explanation has more meaning behind it.
Hatred and anger made it so he was blind to those around him and couldn't taste anything. When you're as angry as he was, all fades into nothingness and you can't really control it. She brought him back from the darkness, and showed him kindness and love in a world that hates and beats him down.
